April Arrived: Hitting Pause On Everything

Another month has passed, and we are now facing a world wide pandemic. Can’t say we didn’t see it coming, but the SCALE of the crisis is astonishing. SIGH.

The majority of you are probably experiencing some form of lockdown right now. A few days ago I flirted with the idea of using a forwarding service to pick up goods and run a Group Order. There are too many cute releases recently, plus any distraction during this quarantine is good for you and I both!

However, today when my relative in Asia went to ship some things to me, they were informed that the usual EMS service which reliably took 3 days now require 3 WEEKS.

Yes, you heard me right. THREE WEEKS!!! 21 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Due to the vastly reduced international flight schedule, rapid international delivery just can’t happen right now. (btw if mailing from Asia to New Zealand, there is NO AIRMAIL anymore. Parcels will take 3 MONTHS by ship.)

We have taken the benefits of globalization for granted for so long, it really slaps you hard in the face when restriction/change like this comes into play.

Regarding Buy Now, the international packages I posted in mid March have arrived within the usual ~2 weeks timeline. Nevertheless, services are more limited now.

According to Royal Mail, major postal routes remain operational but some delay is expected.

Since the situation is evolving fast and anime goods are not exactly essential, let’s take the burden off postal staff and hit PAUSE on HachiSales. (I don’t particularly fancy popping down to the post office either… *gulps*)
