Return of the (bootleg) dead horse

Yesterday over at tumblr, someone sent me an ask accusing me of conning you all, selling bootlegs as official goods.

*SIGHS*

Checking the website tags, it has been almost exactly one whole year since the last accuser. (On tumblr where I post more often, the last rant was 6 months ago lol)

I KNOW I operate my Group Orders seriously and transparently.

I KNOW I aim to give my customers the best quality factory extra goods.

Therefore, I do not appreciate it when a new person finds me and starts hurling unfounded accusations at me.

You’re not the first accuser, and you will not be the last. But whoever has suspicions about me, I will be here and ready to answer your queries because I have nothing to hide.

As this website is the main hub of HachiSales, I shall copy yesterday’s tumblr exchange over here so we can have a record of it!

Guys, have you seen my stick and dead horse?

Because it’s that time of the year again! Time to beat the dead horse that is “YOU SELL BOOTLEGS”!!

===========================

1) “you could show the backs of the charms to see if they have on the logo to prove they aren’t bootlegs”

Since you already visited my website hachisales.com, did you click A Guide to Factory Extra Merch on my homepage?

In this guide, I offer detailed explanation and photos (front AND back of rubber straps) about the types of factory extra I could obtain. Some will be identical to official goods, some will have logo printed but not the right strap, most will have no logo printed.

I CLEARLY STATED to expect NO logo from factory extras. And if any other issues are present, I would mention in individual product description.

Is this not enough? You want me to take front/back photo of every single charm? What if I get a batch of 10 nitotans, 5 have logo and 5 don’t. Should I charge ppl more money for the ones with logos even though the suppliers gave them to me at the same factory extra price?

===========================

2) “if you’re selling bootlegs just be upfront because it’s not good business practice and morals”

All new customers who contact me, I tell them UPFRONT the goods will be factory extras with no logos (because I can’t guarantee for sure). I also tell them to read my FAQ on the website which has full disclosure.

They have to explicitly reply “yes, I’m ok with that” before I would accept their order and take their money. Why? Because I’m not here to con people, fool them into buying bootlegs while making them believe these are official goods.

I can help you source these factory extra items at these prices. If you want my service, ok, this is the total with shipping + paypal fees included.

THEY KNOW THEY ARE BUYING FACTORY EXTRAS. NOT OFFICIAL GOODS.

I ALWAYS make sure things are 100% clear, precisely because I don’t want any subsequent disagreement or dissatisfaction.

===========================

3) “images on your site, they’re extremely similar to the images you see on sites like aliexpress”

The images in the shop are mostly official pics (coz hell, I’m not buying every single set just so I could take sample pics!), so I guess you are referring to the photos taken BY ME? Like this one:

Well…. how else am I supposed to display the goods? Other than lay them flat like this?

My aim is to LET PEOPLE SEE what the items I’m currently selling look like. See! This batch of Deku, Yaomomo and Aizawa have chains instead of strap! But Smash Deku has all the right print!

If after seeing my pics (& receiving my reminder that these are factory extra goods), people are satisfied and want to buy the items, that is their choice.

If they think AliExpress looks the same, they could buy on AliExpress.

===========================

4) Bootlegs vs Factory Extras… the eternal question

If a rubber strap HAS print / logo / official strap, but come packaged in a generic plastic bag, is it a bootleg or factory extra?

If a rubber strap HAS print / logo, but only cheapo strap, is it a bootleg or factory extra?

If a rubber strap has NO logo and only cheapo strap, but looks the same as official goods, is it a bootleg or factory extra?

If you open an official box and the strap is mis-printed, would that become a bootleg if sold by me?

At what point does a factory extra become a bootleg? A cheaper strap? A generic plastic bag? At what point does a factory extra become unboxed official good? A logo? Then should I start listing my logo factory extras as official goods?

Everyone’s definition of what’s good enough is different.

I’m merely here to let people know “these are available at these prices”.

Please stop assuming people who shop with me are uninformed idiots. Whatever you wish to EXPOSE, they already knew before they confirmed their orders with me.
